Case study: BOLD Performing Arts Rebrand

The Brand Story

Bobbie Hall is the Principal of Bold School of Dance, and the Academy is evolving in 2015. There are a number of performing arts academies in East Gippsland, however none offer all three streams (dance, drama and vocal) under the one brand umbrella.

Bobbie is currently studying an Associate Degree of Training & Education through Federation Training, with the view to offer VET Courses and become East Gippsland’s leading Performing Arts Academy. 

The goal of Bold School of Dance is to bring performing arts to the region, rather than our homegrown talent having to move away to study. Holding workshops with guest teachers of many different arts backgrounds gives students the chance to experience the things within dance they may not get a chance to experience within their day to day lives like others.

A rebrand is one element to the change in direction for Bold School of Dance, and Earth & Sea Creative are commissioned to develop the brand identity and stationery.

 

The Brief

The design is relatively open, with a requirement for simple yet effective styling. Colour palette inspiration includes yellows and greens as Bobbie feels they are happy colours. The moodboard which follows overleaf highlights a variety of aesthetics for the design.
